I dropped a bunch of prompts on H/C Prompt Fest. Not sure the norm for leaving prompts on things like this, I haven't really played around with it before, but hopefully, there's something that works there! :D
I've also copied my Big Lists of exchanges to 10001 Nightmares Party :D I think it looks really cool; here's the list for single-fandom exchanges, here's the list of multi-fandom exchanges sorted by minimum number of requests needed and the version that's just sorted by minimum word-count needed.
And so far I've written three fics for ficortreat <3
updated my first big list of fandom exchanges (the one with the single-fandom exchanges, too), since holiday exchanges are coming out of the woodwork now :D (the new (to me) exchanges i've found are in the middle of the too tables)
True Detective: Night Country - I binged the whole season in one sitting, it was really cool. I've not seen any other True Detective season, do they all have supernatural elements? Anyway, this season felt very fitting for October, and I enjoyed it :D
Stargate Universe - I always forget how much SGU helps my mental health until I feel like absolute shit and I put it on and it's like. Yeah. I can sort of breathe now. Like, I have opinions about it, it's not perfect, but it's one of my favorite comfort shows.
Wellington Paranormal - I do love this! I rewatched the whole show (I think there are only 4 seasons) and it's really fun :D
Two and a Half Men - I've run through 5 seasons of this having it on in the background while I'm studying, LOL.
Supernatural - When I feel like shit, physically, I put on horror to distract myself. I've been using Supernatural for that purpose for years, and it's also the reason why I never make it passed the like, first four seasons, LOL. I'll binge it while I'm sick or nauseous or feverish (as I have been this past week, probably a reaction to the flu/covid shot I got) and then the next time it's been so long I start over. Anyway, on season 1 again! I like it :D And it does still work as a distraction XD
Elsbeth - I like the fact that the mystery isn't whodunnit, it's how are they gonna get caught, reminds me Columbo (which I also want to rewatch.)
Meet You at the Blossom - I watched like the first 9 episodes of this 12 episode show back in August (and then I spammed out like 20k of fic for it in less than a month, lol) but haven't watched it since. I got emotionally attached to the characters, and I'm not in a good place mentally right now; I can't handle my emotional support characters getting hurt, and like, I've been spoiled enough to think it's probably a happy ending. But still. I just can't deal with it right now. It's a fun show though! I like it :DDD
Anyway, I'm procrastinating on a uni assignment due in like a week, I need to get back to that (curse my early notes, my handwriting is basically just squiggly lines sometimes---I got it kind of under control later, but yikes. Sometimes arthritic fingers are particularly annoying.)
fandomgiftbasket has revealed! :DDD
I wrote 2 fics and received 5 gifts! <333 My two fics were both for sweetsorcery, an Attic fic and a fic for The Man Who Went Too Far by E.F. Benson, which is a new fandom for me :D
And I got five gifts! I'm absolutely flummoxed, and so grateful and delighted, they're all so awesome <333
I got a Leverage (Drago/Harry—somebody took me up on this rarepair!) fic by Teratornis, a set of three BruJay icons by
kingstoken, an Amos/Prax ficlet for The Expanse by
impala_chick, a BruJay ficlet by
redhandedtamarin, and last but certainly not least an Attic ficlet by
sweetsorcery.
This was the first time I actually signed up for anything like this and didn't just do gifts, and I had such a good time! :D I love all my gifts! <333 And I really enjoyed the fics I wrote, and it was fun exploring a new fandom :DDD
I've cooked up a dear writer letter for yuletide over on 10001 Nightmares Party! :D
It's an expanded version of my General Exchange Letter, along with sections for the fandoms I'm requesting:
Requested characters: Derek Wilson, Stanley Forbes (My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set))
Requested characters: Jin Xiaobao, Zongzheng Huai'en (My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set))
Requested characters: James "Biggles" Bigglesworth, Erich von Stalhein, Dick Ripley, Peter Fortymore (My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags; or it may use exceptions I explain in the form)
(I would like either Biggles/von Stalhein or Dick Ripley/Peter Fortymore)
Requested characters: Arkin, The Collector (My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set))
Requested characters: Yoon Jongwoo, Seo Moonjo (My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set))
Requested characters: Yook Dongsik, Seo Inwoo (My gift must feature all of my chosen character tags (if 0: any from tag set))
So, back in July (wow, time ran away!) I had a goal of writing 14k words/week, and aside from the one week I called, I did in fact do that. Actually, I wrote a smack total of 46k words in July, which is still absolutely fantastic and I'm really proud of myself. I then continued on with a 15k words/week goal for August---I failed.
I ran smack into the wall, LOL. So, in August I managed to write 15k words/week for 2 weeks in a row, and then I could no longer maintain that pace. The first Sunday I had to write 7.3k words in order to succeed, which I did do, and the second Sunday I needed 7.9k words, which I also succeeded at (and set a new daily record). The third Sunday I needed another 8k words, and I only got 4k words.
Upon this failure, I continued the rest of August with no weekly goal. Despite this, I still ended up writing 49k words in August, so I'm not exactly disappointed or anything. :)
In September, I wrote 26k words, and had no weekly goal. I am a bit disappointed at that, but I did succeed in getting my year-to-date word-count to 400k words, which is absolutely baffling. Next on the docket, get my YTD wc to 420k words; then I'll have written twice as much this year as last year! That would be awesome.
\(≧▽≦)/
In October, I'm returning to a weekly goal because I've been feeling kind of adrift. The benefit of a weekly goal is that I know exactly how much time I'm going to write that week, and can plan around it accordingly, and as such it's easier to get done. And it makes me feel more secure, more like I Know What's Coming(TM) in the next week. It's a very nice feeling.
My weekly goal for now is going to be 12k words/week. That feels solidly in the realm of possible; I would say I started overstretching myself at 14k words/week, and 13k words was a bit more effort but still comfortable, so I would like to get back to that after/near the end of October, and then hopefully I can keep that pace up for the rest of the year. I might push the envelope up to 13.5k words if that's something that seems doable later on, but I won't go higher than that in 2024.
My initial plan when I started this slow exercise to increase my weekly writing output was, when I reached 10k words/week, to hold at that level for like three months or so. I obviously didn't up doing that; it felt like I could continue so I did. Honestly, my secret goal the whole time was to be able to write 15k words in a week; and I have done that now! Twice! That's super, super cool and I'm incredibly pleased. But having done that, I don't think it's wise to rush back to that; I was probably onto something when I initially thought I'd be sticking longer to the higher weekly goals before moving on.
Hence why I don't intend to keep climbing for the rest of 2024; rather, I'm going to try acclimatizing to a 12k-13.5k words/week strain and hope my writing muscles can adapt to that without breaking, and then we'll see how that works and what I'm doing in 2025.
...In other but related news, I also joined ferunwrimo in September and had a lot of fun with it; I like climbing leaderboards!
In terms of getyourwordsout, I think I'm still a few thousand words ahead of my pledge, and that's also incredibly fun. This is not at all how I thought a 500k word pledge would go :DDD

The Forced Proximity Flash Exchange has revealed, and I'm thrilled to announce I both wrote and received 2 fics :DDD I adore both the fics I got, they're both so lovely <3
For sweetsorcery, I wrote breathe in until you can taste the thunder on your tongue, an Attic fic, as well as an aching kind of sound, a Thurnley Abbey fic. This is a new fandom for me, but I've been wanting to try writing it for a while, and I'm pretty pleased with the result :D
And I received Down in the Trenches, a Biggles fic (Algy POV, Biggles/Erich) by sholio, and True Dawn, a Biggles fic (Biggles/Moorven) by
sweetsorcery.
In other exchange news, I've signed up to trickortreatex, since it is after all only a 300 word minimum \o/ I also did end up sending in a swap request for
ficinabox, which I'm very nervous about. It's my first time doing FIAB, let alone the swap thing!
(crossposting my comment from smallweb's Recs and Resources post.)
SWS-progress: I've got nearly everything in unpublished drafts on 10001 Nightmares Party, my personal fic archive. Actually publishing them all is going to take time though; I need to add all the tags/information, etc. But I've gotten some published so far, and I really like it :D
Resources: (I haven't read all the comments yet so apologies if I repeat resources others have already recced sweat)

Yes, I'm hopping onto the smallweb bandwagon <( ̄︶ ̄)>
My project is 10001 Nightmares Party, a personal fanfic archive I just set up. I want to cross-post all my works from AO3 to 10001 Nightmares! There are almost a hundred of them though, so it's going to take a minute, lol.
It's also got fanfic recs <3
What is Small Web September?
Small Web September (is it too early for an abbreviation? Feel free to use SWS for short xD) is a chill, friendly and open event for anyone who'd like to make progress on their small web project(s) to join and share ideas, trade tips, and post progress. A small web project can be anything from a personal site/indie archive or shrine to a webring or directory, a list of resources you wanted to create, a coding how-to, maybe a set of icons or badges - the sky's the limit! As long as it's small web-related (by the definition helpfully offered in our comm intro post), it's suitable and we'd love you to join and work on it during SWS.
Welp, I've signed up to ficinabox. I'm not sure how that's gonna go with school starting but I figure if all I manage to write is 2k and I default on the rest, that's good enough for me! :D In addition, I've also updated my Generic Exchange Letter with some optional prompts. These are freeform tags I've requested in various exchange <3
And I present my longest completed fanfic yet: like phantom wings, a Meet You at the Blossom fic, Jin Xiaobao/Zongzheng Huai'en, for a total wordcount of 13289!
For justmarriedexchange, I wrote that which soars in the night sky for
SweetSorcery, an Attic - A. M. Burrage fic for the prompt 'Fake Marriage - Amnesia Makes Characters (Erroneously) Assume They’re Married' which I think is just delightful XD
And I received Moon Over Mayfair by SweetSorcery, a Biggles - W.E. Johns fic for the prompt 'Proposal - Love at First Sight; Proposes Immediately', an absolutely phenomenal fic that went right to my heart :DDD
For raremaleslashex I received I Gave it My Best but this Halo Don't Fit by
PyroAo which sadly I have not read yet but it's a Kon-El | Conner Kent/Jason Todd fic and I'm very excited!
I also wrote shoot your shot for infinity for palebluestings, a Wind Breaker fic, Sakura Haruka/Togame Jo.
