books, books, and more books (and some sickness)

I got more money than I expected from various relatives over the holidays and in the end, I successfully bought 13 books from my wishlist! (They're paperbacks, that's why I couldn't buy more. Like, these are all self-published through Amazon and unavailable anywhere else, and I refuse to use kindle, so... paperbacks it is.) In fact, I picked them up today and after the morning I had, this is awesome.

So this morning I woke up because my head hurt. I took meds for that, spent an hour turning in bed without the headache receding, and then threw up.

I haven't thrown up in years, not since surgery. (TV lies to you. Sometimes morphine just makes you throw up.) I am wildly unhappy with this but silver lining; because I was up taking meds I wasn't wearing my retainer when things went wrong.

Anyway, I haven't thrown up again, the headache is mildly better, and now I'm just lazying about trying to figure out if the soda I put in the fridge has gotten cold yet. Also I'm reading A DUKE FOR A LADY—which isn't one of the books I bought, it's from the library and the loan expires next week. So. Gotta get on that first.

Anyway, I hope you're having a better day than me. 😅

i also hope they're gonna be good, most of these authors are new to me 😅 And i've made a little progress with A Lady for a Duke (liking it so far!), so hopefully i'll finish it before the loan expires.

I see you are an Alexis Hall fan too. I loved Boyfriend Material and Husband Material. I'm currently reading the first book in his Kate Kane paranormal Investigations series.

i will gratefully accept your hugs, thank you. and hah, yeah it wasn't fun. thankfully it seems like i just threw up because of the headache; i've barely been nauseous since. so that's good, i guess. and i did feel better for a day, then i got my period, LOL. fun stuff (sarcastic).

and i am really, really excited about the books!

i like Hall's writing when the mood strikes; i've read Something Fabulous which is a fun ride (though I didn't like all the characters), and i've got Boyfriend Material but haven't read it yet. I'm actually the one that got my library to buy A Lady for a Duke, so that's cool!

so i haven't actually finished Something Fabulous—i keep getting side-tracked by fanfictions—but from i remember it's fun! i disliked the twin sister (though she set the whole thing off, lol) but like everything else at least enough that my brain turns off and i just enjoy it. i hope to get back to it sometime soon but my mood's not really there right now, sadly.

Alexis Hall does good characters both likable and not. I am slowly working my way through his back catalogue so it is good to know which are the better ones.
