At the very least, simply making a comm on DW doesn't require tracking down another email to use nor remembering another password, both things I just didn't feel like, LOL.

And yeah, posting on AO3 does just feel like tossing things into the void! It sort of feels the same posting on DW because there's no audience, but it's an entirely different kind of void. Like, on AO3 things get buried by the masses so quickly it's a toss up if it's going to sink or swim. On my own DW the lack of attention is more a deliberate choice. It's calmer, it's more peaceful, and the void is actually pretty tiny. The trouble is simply other people *finding* the void.

Also, I do like that I can't see hit numbers and there aren't any kudos, so that's some metrics I don't need to think about. If I was doing it on Tumblr I'd absolutely worry about that XD

So like, yeah. Tossing them up on DW is a more personal, gentle action than tossing fics into the violent whirlpool that is AO3. It's more for my own joy than anything else, and that feels pretty damn great.
