When a comm has paid time, anyone can also subscribe to receive all comments, without having to subscribe to each post individually. That's why I do it for my bnha_fans comm, it makes participation a bit easier :) Especially for folks with free accounts who can only subscribe to 15 items max.

Or maybe someone just wanted to say thanks for a great comm :D

I hadn't realized that. I also assumed it was mostly for the polls, but I believe it also makes the comm searchable?

Oh, I think you're right, it makes comments also searchable (otherwise I believe only entries are?) which is particularly relevant for a comm like booknook, too, in which a lot of the conversation happens in comments :D
