Yes, not having to use another email address/keep track of another login would be pretty worthwhile, ha. I might go the comm route instead as well. (So thanks for that idea!)
DW and Squidgeworld are both pretty minimal audience, but it does feel different. AO3 is an archive, meant to keep things accessible... but the way it's functionally used is that it's so busy and active, that things get swept out of sight very quickly in a lot of cases! That business and activity means there's a chance people will find the thing, but there's also every chance that it's out of sight out of mind before anyone does notice it. DW or Squidge may have less likelihood of being seen at all, but you're right that it feels like a more deliberate choice than just being whim to circumstance.
Finding opportunities to do things for your own sense of joy is always good.
