Yep, not every fandom experience is the same! Limiting your interaction sounds like nice a way to get what you want out of fandom without the fandom drama.

Cozying down with just a few people is in my opinion much cozier, but I do kind of get the feeling that people that are very invested and Participate a lot kind of... expect that level of participation from everyone in the fandom.

Like, you're not truly *in* a fandom unless you meet some kind of participation threshold? I don't know.
